My nannan died at her nursing home on 27-12-08. She had, had many chest infections resulting in a
hospital admission in 2007. My nan had the most warmest of smiles and even though she had dementia
she still remembered me and could tell me my name and that I was her granddaughter. Even though my
nan died at the grand old age of 89 it still came as a shock when I got the call. Seeing her that
night she looked like she was asleep, but kissing her cheek I knew she had gone. I just wish I could
have said goodbye nan. I will always miss you talking about that "big bath" and you having your fish
and chips and a cup of tea which you said you hated and did not like but when I turned my back you
had always started to eat it. I miss you telling me to go away and then if I got up you would always
give me that cheeky look! Love you so much nan it hurts to have to let you go.
Goodnight nannan you are at your final resting place now. God bless darling I will always love you

When tomorrow starts without me,
and I'm not there to see;
If the sun should rise and find your eyes,
all filled with tears for me;

while thinking of the many things,
we didn't get to say.
I know how much you love me,
as much as I love you,
and each time that you think of me,

that an Angel came and called my name,

it seemed almost impossible,

and maybe see you smile.
But then I fully realized,
that this could never be,

But when I walked through heaven's gates,
I felt so much at home.
When God looked down and smiled at me,
from His great golden throne,
He said, "This is eternity,
and all I've promised you".
Today for life on earth is past,
but here it starts anew.
I promise no tomorrow,
but today will always last,
and since each day's the same day,
there's no longing for the past.
But you have been so faithful,
so trusting and so true.
Though there were times you did some things,
you knew you shouldn't do.
But you have been forgiven
and now at last you're free.
